What is the D89 paint stripe option on a 72 Cheyenne stepside?
The truck I'm purchasing was repainted black but on the spid I saw it was red orange and also had the d89 paint stripe option. I don't know what it is on a stepside. I'm assuming it's the strip that's painted along the top of the fenders to the end of the bed but have never seen it on a stepside..any help

Use the Google site search up at the top of the page for more information. Keywords: "d89" "vintage windmills" "ss tim" This should give you several threads to look at. Basically the RPO D89 stripe (wide spaced, wide/narrow, double pinstripe) ran along the upper fender about where the upper bodyside molding would. So upper molding or stripe not both. It was offered in only two colors Black or White and matched the tailgate letters. On a Red Orange/Hugger Orange truck they will be White. On Fleetside pickups they extended the length of the truck. On Stepsides and Chassis Cabs they only extended to the rear of the cab (generally stopping just like a Fleetside), nothing on the step's bed or fenders! |
