Factory paint stripe pictures

I have seen posts in the past referring to the factory paint stripe on our trucks. I bought an unmolested 69 GMC that has the stripe on it. I thought I would share the pictures :

cool! my GMC had that option but it was painted over, apparently. Could you post a pic showing where the stripe terminates on the rear of the bed? Thanks a ton!

We've got a front fender on the hubby's blazer that looks like a factory paint stripe. It is an original and rust free fender.....just don't know what it came off of

My bed has the stripe too. Got it from a salvage yard in Washington but never saw the truck it came off.

My truck has a black stripe on it too. Mine's really wavy though from the factory. I figure my truck was detailed on a Monday by someone who had a hang over. The factory "Chevrolet" on my tailgate is painted really poorly too.

My truck is supposed to have the stipe. The PO had the truck repainted a diff color. Is the paint stripe a somewhat rare option?! I have never heard of it till I saw the above pics, and for the longest time been wondering what the hell my glove box sheet what talking about...

Also, my truck was from the factory Light Red (514), what color would the paint stripe be??????

I always thought they were solid paint stripes.

I would venture a guess that yes, the paint stripe is a fairly rare option. However, it doesn't make the truck worth more $$$, even though I think it looks neat, something a little different than the upper trim on every other truck.

I was curious about the color of my stripe too, my truck was factory yellow...a white stripe wouldn't show up that well.

D89 Paint Stripe

Just to update this thread, I added a pic of the glovebox lid and our '69 fender with stripe showing:

Too bad, this stripe won't be there much longer, but we are planning to replicate it on the final job.

Thanks, JQ-72 - the rear stripe was already gone on this one (primered over) by a PO, and we were wondering how it finished off.

I love the Paint Stripe on these trucks...I actually think I like it better than the trim that it mimics. It's great for solid coloured trucks like this one (Bad4x4's truck I believe)

Pin stripes rock!

Here is mine. My pin stripe gets a little wavy on the bed of the truck. I think the guy doing pin stripes on my truck that day was hung over!
