Step up Patch

I’m considering purchasing a 71 burb and it has an area of rust on both sides at the step up to the cargo area. Is a patch panel available for this area?

Not to my knowledge. But either way here is the best thread I have encountered on the subject. For what it's worth if that is the only rust on the Burban I would find it hard to pass it up.

P.S. Thanks to 04ls1gto for post his fine work.

Check out my thread on fixing this, it was a huge amount of work. I had to remove plywood floor and replace and it's going to be a lot worse then it looks

That’s what I was afraid of. I haven’t seen it in person yet and if it looks like that on both sides I can only imagine how bad it really is.

You can see in 04ls1gto's thread that his crossmember is rotted away too. In my case the crossmember is pretty solid but rust has gotten between it and the inside sheet metal.

Look in from the wheel well side.
