Are OEM-type gas tank straps available?
I'm not very happy with the straps that came with my new tank and would much rather have OEM-type or at the very least some detailed pictures and measurements so I can have some built. Mine were completely shot, one was rusted clear thru, and I never did save or even take pictures of them:waah:

I rebuilt mine using the original ends and hardware but with new metal straps. If you can find a used set maybe you can do the same thing.

Yeah-that just might work. Good idea!

The originals used rivets but I just used bolts and metal the same thickness. For a padding between the tank and strap I used rubber roofing material.

This isn't the best photo but it may help.

Grab 1 extra set of j-bolts that like came with the new straps and then hook one side in frame then attach one side of straps to them form the straps to tank bottom and up other side and then insert j-bolts in the other side to connect to opposite side of frame. Some use standard bolts do this but I've found a extra pair of j-bolts work best. OEM straps aren't made.

I may have an extra set of straps if you end up needing some originals. I will double check if you do.
