67 Chevy c20 250 thermostat housing leak

I have a stock 67 Chevy truck 250. I tried fel-pro gasket twice and I also tried black rtv . I lightly Sanded and made sure everything is clean and smooth. I'm using the blue composit fel-pro gasket. Both times I didn't use and gasket sealer ... I cant get nothing to work it's a light leak. Any ideas or part numbers would be great guys thanks. The thermostat housing where it bolts to the head...

Are you sure it isn't cracked? I would try another housing. How does the flange on the head look?

Don't see any cracking. Flange? It's just a flat surface that it bolts 2 on the head

Just different terminology, we are talking about the same thing..... It could also be cracked. You obviously have something else going on besides a leaking gasket.

I think I have a T-Stat housing top on my 292 from an earlier Toyota L6 engine [the kind they copied from early '50s Chevy engines and used in Landcruisers.]
It's steel or cast iron. Has 1/2'' plug for a temp probe, too.
