Thanks Kees, yes on the time. Month long, really three days of work, and more like 2.5 days of thinking and trying things then 2 hours of fab. All fun though!

For your strap bolt, what about cutting a piece of DOM tubing to act as a spacer there, so your strap can have nice even pressure against the crossbar, rather than multiple nuts and washers?
