Welcome aboard -

We left the Truck Product Center in about 2005 (the crash was in 2008); the motivation was that all General Motors engineering should be consolidated at the GM Tech Center in Warren. It added about an hour every day to my commute.

The tragedy (in my mind) was that the Validation Center, at the corner of Woodward and South Blvd (now the "M-1 Concours") was only about 10 years old when it was vacated and demolished. The replacement facility on 12 Mile Rd could not hold a candle to the Validation Center in terms of resources and size.

So if I understand you correctly: this would be looking west along South Blvd? The closest traffic light would be the drive back to Bldg 32 (and the far light in the distance would be MLK Blvd)?
