Hey Kim, doing the same on mine and thinking about just laying a heavy bead of seam sealer all around and not welding. Wondering if the windshield rubber will help seal from the outside on top and the seam sealer will keep water out. Did you weld the entire top and side joints too?

I welded it all the way around. I think the window rubber would keep water out but not sure how tight it fits against the vent.
