I am sure it is also dependent on the tire size as well. I had 20x10 all around on my 67 and the back rubbed a little. Had to and 2" to the rear tub and take out the inner fenders up front too. I dont want to go there with my 85 but, I want as much rim as I can get.

Has anyone had any experience with online rim suppliers? anyone better than the other? Shipping is usually what kills me going to Hawaii.
20x10 or 22x10 will work fine with a 5.5" backspace.
(assuming the origin rear axle is in the truck and not something swapped in that's wider)
Overall tire height will depend on the tire size you try to use.

It's hard to compare what you did with your 67 truck,... without know which width rearend was under the truck (67-69 or 70-72) and what backspace the 20 x10 wheels were.
You have to compare apples to apples.
And in this case,... we are talking 73-87 trucks with a fleetside bed.
(not stepside)

Look at board vendors for a good source for wheels.
Like Pro Performance out of Arizona,...
