Ive been following this thread as I have a Sniper as well and I'm pretty happy with it. It isnt a perfect system and I've had issues with it too but most of mine were caused by me. I have roughly 4500 miles or so on it this year including the entire power tour with no problems. It's still much better than a carb imo and I dont ever want to swap back if I don't absolutely have to.
That said I bought my setup with full timing control (dual sync and associated parts) about this time last year. This Feb Edelbrock dropped the price on the Pro-Flo to basically the same as what the Sniper with timing control costs. Had the Pro-Flo been that price when I was buying stuff that is what I'd have because just like you said port injection will always be better than TBI....
