Question I need help on my 67 c10

I just bought a 67 c10 small window original truck with a six cylinder. Anyways 6000 later and a 383 stroker I need to know if there is a different clutch linkage set up cause i cant get this one to fit with the headers. Any pics would be great or info.

running a 3speed? Maybe you should get some shorty headers. Then it will clear.

The headers are most likely the problem. Different brands will fit differently. Like davidh says, shorty's are probably best. I have that on my list to do also. The PO just hammered the back tube until it cleared.

Do the headers run into the linkage tube itself,or one of the two arms(tabs)that are on it?I have relocated one before.Clean all the grease out,cut it off and reweld out of the way.

Re: I need help on my 67 c10

Yes im running long tube headers and a 3 speed(runs like a sewing machine, but wicked at high rpms). My problem I think i need to jack the motor up on the drivers side then put the z bar in. I dont even no if the linkage hits the header yet. Also I noticed that my engine mounts are on the rear two holes while my buddies auto runs in the front two hole. Is that supposed to be different on auto vs. manuel?
