Shock mount location on the ho52??

Hi all, Since my truck is sitting across the country and I am looking for
a replacement rear axle for my ho52... does anybody know the shock
mount locations on my 72 chevy 3/4 ton ho52? Are they both aft or 1 shock front and 1 shock aft? Also, what dana 60 axles will bolt right in?

I am guessing a pre73 gmc 3/4 ton dana60 will bolt right in. Are there any others that are a direct bolt-in Ford? post 73 chevy dana 60 etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Chris

Both shocks will on the forward side of the HO52. You can slide a 14 bolt from a single rear wheel 1 ton right in place with just a conversion u-joint and modification to one shock mount. A pre73 Dana 60 will definitely have correct spring mount locations.

Re: Shock mount location on the ho52??

Carefull, some pre '73 D60's have 42" wide spring perch spacing. The '70 GMC C20 I have has the wider spacing leaf axle.

Re: Shock mount location on the ho52??

Hey gang, I just wanted to clarify that this is a 72 4x4 with an ho52 rear axle.
It sounds and looks like the shocks are both forward of the axle?
Thanks again

You have not been misled. 72 4x4, HO52, both shocks are on forward side of the axle.
