Dash Repair

I need to fix the buggered up radio hole in my 66 dash. I think one of those trick bezels won't work as the hole is pretty big and extends past the bottom edge.

Has anyone used one of the patch panels from classic parts, or other vendors? How happy are you with the metal, etc..

I guess it would be better to use a section from a donor dash maybe?

Any advice???

Re: Dash Repair

Here's what I ended up making out of a 5 dollar piece of aluminum. Not bad for a day's work....

final results with radio installed. Hardly visible once painted.

Re: Dash Repair

I replace the whole dash for that very reason! Lots of spot welds to drill and six bolts to remove but it comes right out and the donor dash fits right back in. About a 2 day job.

Thanks LDO that is exactly the solution (easy) to the problem. Still have the template and can you make one up?
