Windshield washer pump

I had gotten a new washer pump from the past Carlisle swap meet and when I checked it the next day to my original one I found that the new one is different. I didn't do too much looking online but the ones I have found so far all been like the new I got. So my question is where can I find an exact match or closer to an exact match for an original style washer pump? My other question is if there is a way for them to be rebuilt completly? Mine as of now doesn't work at all.

Back in 2017 I found the pump in my 67 Burban was shot and after a lot of research and searching I discovered that there are at least 2 styles of pump. The one I had (Which I call the early style as I believe it was used on the 60-66 trucks) has no direct replacement or rebuild parts. I believe the later style will work in place of the early style.

Maybe a replacement for the early style could be found through a different model earlier GM vehicle like a Corvette

Just replace the entire unit. Never had any luck rebuilding them

What doesn’t work?
Is it that the motor won’t come on when you turn the switch?
Do the wipers go back and forth?
Or, does it come on, but the pump just doesn’t squirt fluid?
The motor issue is obvious.
The pump?
These type pumps are notorious for “Drain back”, where the fluid drains away from the pump, but then there’s not enough pressure to pull the fluid back up into the system.
Have you tried “Priming” the pump?
I had to do this with mine to get it working.
Take a squeeze bottle filled with fluid and hook it to the hose, squeeze the bottle, while the pump is actuated.
Unless the diaphragm and seals a dried out, this may fix your issue.
Rebuilding the pump itself is pretty easy.

The motor doesn't come on at all when I push the button, almost like it's just burnt out from years of use or corroded from sitting unused. The wipers do work when I turn the switch, and when I press it in for the washer and wipers. Is there a fuse for the washer motor that could be bad?

That pump is the same as the new one I got. It's a little bigger so only one screw will fit when mounted. I haven't installed it to see if it will work because I don't want to mess anything up. Also, the arm that is moved by the gear is different too.

Wait, wait, wait! The factory washer pump won't operate without the wiper motor turning. The pump is operated by a cam on the wiper motor. (See photo #1. The arrow points to cam) this is why the washer pulses instead of spraying a constant stream.

Second photo red arrow points to linkage the cam operates in moves in the direction of the green arrow. Drawing water into the plastic piston on the left side then expelling it back out to the spray nozzles on the cowl.
