'Burb fuel filler patch panel?

This area on my '67 is almost gone, and it's a small enough area that I think it'd be easy to fab up a die set to stamp a small patch panel out - I've been rolling this idea around for a while, as I work at a shop capable of writing a CNC program to cut the dies on their CNC mills. Does anyone else need a small patch panel for this area on their 'Burb? Or, is there already a source for it and I just haven't found it? If there's a need for a few I may look into making some.

Hi Alex,

Just remember, you can't buy or sell parts on the board unless you are a paying member and your name is in Blue. If you see parts you need for sale on the classified forum, you can buy those parts but you can't post a for sale, wanted to buy, or want to trade unless you subscribe.

To see the subscription rates go to the menu bar above and click on "Subscribe"

Thanks,
LockDoc

Re: 'Burb fuel filler patch panel?

Thank you for pointing that out, LockDoc - I didn't think about that before posting. I'll take care of that on my next payday.

Re: 'Burb fuel filler patch panel?

They do make a patch for that, I just looked at them and they were around $20. I made mine out of a piece of scrap patch panel in about 15 minutes with a sanding disc and shaped around a piece of pipe.

Thanks for posting info on that. Do you have a web site or vendor name you can post?

Re: 'Burb fuel filler patch panel?

I found it at a local resto supply here in Phoenix, but here is a link for a company that sells online. http://infantimachine.com/index.php/...e-filler-panel

Re: 'Burb fuel filler patch panel?

Are the Burbs the same as a Blazer? I have a Blazer and this type patch was the same.Maybe a Burb is different than a Blazer, but I don't know why it would be.

Re: 'Burb fuel filler patch panel?

Yes, that's either a truck patch or an aftermarket filler panel for Suburban - the 'Burb has a very pronounced boss in the quarter panel for the filler neck. I didn't think about Blazer being the same, but I'll keep that in mind next time I can get a good look at a Blazer.

Re: 'Burb fuel filler patch panel?

I just went back and read the first post again and realized you was talking about a repair patch, not filling the hole. sorry about the confusion I caused.
