Suburban at the salvage yard
-
The local salvage yard owner hauled this in yesterday. I went over today to see what I could scavenge off of it. It's pretty stripped out and you can tell it was buried in the ground but I did get some usable parts off of it, including all the Soft-Ray glass except the drivers window. (broken). I will try and post some pictures of the stuff I got tomorrow. Probably be late, going to a swap meet in the morning... LockDoc

Re: Suburban at the salvage yard
Wow, now that is some rusty dusty goodness there!
Looks like the dash and the gauge panel are salvageable?

The hatch has some rust in it but it is above average for the Iowa rust belt.... I am going to try and fix it. Pictures tomorrow. LockDoc

Believe it or not there isn't. I guess the tinted windshield saved it. I am going to use it in another truck I have though.

Re: Suburban at the salvage yard
that looks like an excellent candidate for a crew cab conversion. I'd rather cut that instead of my 72. awesome find!

Re: Suburban at the salvage yard
It doesn't look bad, did you get some of the parts with it (glass etc...)?

Re: Suburban at the salvage yard
Ol Blue20
I did get the front fenders and an extra set of doors with all the guts and glass but the bottom of the extra set of doors are rotted real bad. the right side doors on the Burb are in good shape I have to replace the left door it is bent in-between the hinges. I did not get any interior parts. |

Re: Suburban at the salvage yard
Nice Doc, looks like you scored. I have noticed fewer 67-72 anything in the junk yards this past year! Even the junk guys say they are not coming in like they used to. The ones that are left are being completely stripped!
