Carb Rebuild Vac. Lines Help

I am finally going to remove my quadrajet carb and rebuild. In the meantime, I would like to clean up some of the vacuum line spaghetti that may no longer be necessary.

Most of this stuff fell apart in my hand from being so brittle but regardless, I have taken some pictures and would appreciate help in identifying what these are, what they do and if it is safe to remove.

Truck is an 85 with a 305 and 700R4. Had a smog pump and tubes into the manifolds but those are all gone.

There is no emissions requirement where I live.

I would like to keep the cruise and the vapor canister.

some of this stuff is attached to the thermostat housing...why??

Pics as promised...
Last pic is of the carb before removal.
