Hey guys, I need some help with towing questions. I kinda have 2 questions. First of all, I have a ~5000lb 26ft travel trailor with electric brakes. I was wondering how many of you pull something like this.

1. I need to know if the old blazers need extra cooling (engine or tranny) or anything for reliability. It has the tow kit with the tranny cooling in the radiator.

2. My blazer has a block lift in the rear. Not my install (damn POs). Needless to say it's a little saggy in the back. I'm interested in upgrading. Keeping in mind an extra 1500lbs of toung weight, what is my best bet for upgrade? Springs? Shackle flip? Add-a-leaf?

If you were to get rid of the blocks I would recommend new springs. I'm sure some will say a 26 ft travel trailer is a bit long to be pulled by a Blazer even with electric brakes. I have no personal experience, just remember seeing those type of responses before when someone was talking about a long trailer and short wheel base Blazer.

Is yours a 3 core or 4 core radiator and what type of shape is it in?

No personal experience, but I'd have reservatioins about pulling a 26 foot trailer with a Blazer. The slightest wind and that trailer will pull a Blazer all over the place.

Does anyone know what the towing capacity is for a Blazer?

Do you have disk brakes up front or drums? Since you have a transmission cooler, I'm assuming it is an automatic.

Yeah, I know it's a bit outside of what the recommendations are. I have disk up front and yes the automatic.
I have pulled a car on a tandem car hauler. I figured it was approximately the same weight.

That 5500 Lbs. Was W/ A Equilizer Hitch, I Beleive It Was Alot
Lower Than That If You Just Went With A Ball Mounted Hitch.

I have an equalizer hitch with a sway brake. Oh and thanks for the link luv2xclr8. That's pretty cool.

No personal experience, but I have family and friends with personal experience...and if it was me, and I knew I would be towing on a regular basis, I would put air bags in the back. Now, I know when people think of bags, they usualy think of low-riders...but my friend and his crew at http://www.kpcomponents.com/default....egoryID=626139
make custom bag kits for trucks/cars/whatever you can think of....and they now use bags for lifts as well...anyways, they are in Central California...my home town....and that would be the route I would take fr suspension anyways...

NO PROBLEM, I SPENT ALMOST 2 HOURS SAVING ALL OF THOSE

An extra external mounted tranny cooler could'nt hurt........
