Question Help! Trying to find split rims

Hi guys, do any of you know where I would be able to get a set of 5 split rims for a 1948 Chevy? They're 6 bolt but I don't know what size they're supposed to be either. I've contacted over ten wrecking yards for old trucks to no avail. Any help would be great!

Not off the cuff but, try these two places:

Great bunch of folks. Check out the classifieds and then register and post the question if you don't find them. Someone may know where you can get a set.

Robert's the guy that runs the site and he restores trucks and sell surplus parts. He might have a line on some for you. I read a post that he was going to be out of pocket for Christmas so, it may be a couple of days before he responds.

Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Re: Help! Trying to find split rims

Stock wheels on the 48 1/2 ton were 16", but there were several possibilities.

Re: Help! Trying to find split rims

Memory may fail, but I recall getting splits(16"?) on my 42 which I went out and found drop center wheels (16") to replace them. I think they may still be in the shed, but will have to get a flashlight and check.

I thought it strange for a split at 16" and for the drop center wheel at 16" but chalked it up to someone elses knowledge or ?

I will check and respond. Don't know about how to get them to you if I have them.
