Some of you asked to see a few more pics. Here are some of the assembly. I have been painting every nut, bolt and washer with a grey hammer enamel to match the springs. It is turning out really nice.

I am very impressed by your attention to detail, excellent job! Keep the pics coming, and I hope you are keeping a pic record of your build, it could help a lot of people out. Can't wait to see more!

Nice buildup, but remember, pace yourself. You only have that to tinker with until the first of the year. Got a question for ya: Can you powder coat a boxed frame? I know that the frame has to be at a certain temp to bake, but would the fact that its boxed mess with it? Thanks

Pace yourself! Yeah......got it. Thanks. Man, that is hard to do but I am trying. Actually I am taking it real slow. The only bolts that are tight are the ones on the front crossmember. Everything else I am just prefitting and looking at and then I get brave and tighten it all down.

Anyway, I don't see whey there would be a problem coating a boxed frame. You just need to make sure it is as clean as possible. Find a steam cleaner and use that if you can't get a sand blaster to it. The guys at the PC shop told me they do that sometimes.

I put oven cleaner on my frame and sat it out in the sun and let it bake one hot afternoon and when I sprayed it off with the power washer it took 90 % of the stuff off. The other 10% Lost Wages nagged me about while he scraped! LOL

Find a PC shop in your area and talk to them. They will give you the best advice.

WOW! That looks soooooooooo good! I can wait to see what it looks like as a rolling chassis!!! I'm really hopeing that I can do a frame off to my burb when I start school here on the 14th! Going for autobody! Any way I hope to powder coat my frame all so but most likly I will do it black because it's going to be my daily driver and that way the grease and road crap will blend in! LOL Again that looks SOOOOOO COOL! I can't wait to see it all done! Have a BLAST! -Brian

Thanks for all the compliments. It really makes it all worth it when other people appreciate it as much as I do. The neighbors and co-workers just don't get it.

The rearend will be red with grey u-bolts and shocks. The track bar and brackets will all be red.

Thanks JohnnyP.....I have always admired your truck and work. I hope mine will turn out as nice as Maych.

Nice nice nice work. It looks so awesome I might actually be afraid to drive it. I know it's being built to drive and last but it's just coming out so beautifully. Makes me want to totally tear mine down.
How long and how much is it looking like it's going to take to get this project to completion? What are you doing for interior? Drivetrain? It just begs for a modern leather interior and an LS1.

Seriously, gorgeous so far.

I am on a three year plan to have it completed. Money is the issue of course as I am putting it back together with virtually all new parts.

The interior is planned to be out of a new GM truck. I want the tan leather buckets with the full console. I want the seats where the belts are built into the seats. I plan to put a full Sony sound system in the truck to include DVD. I will keep the original radio in the dash and put the Sony head unit in the console. A few other things are planned for the instrument panel, but I will keep those quiet for now until I know I can pull them off.

As for the driveline it will most likely be a new ZZ4 GM engine with a TH400 tranny hooked to a 3.73 Eaton posi.

I will be putting 17 or 18" wheels and tires on the truck but will wait to that nearly last since the prices on those keep dropping and the styles change so quickly.

This truck will not be a daily driver that is for sure. She will make it out on nice days though. For long hauls she will get to ride on a trailer behind the Duramax! With bucket seats I can't drive her to shows and take the wife and kids, so we will all load up in the new truck and haul her along on the trailer.
