Talking my Edelbrock woes are over!!!

Well I finally have had enough with my Edeljunk 600 cfm carb... I was having problems with the idle and stumbles off idle for 2.5 years now.....did the regulator thing and all that... it was still inconsistent... I put a new Holley 750 vaccuum secondary on it and what a difference!!! I spun both rear tires instead of one....I didnt even know that truck had posi, I'm putting a different gear in it anyway but still. And the kicker of it all... I only paid 249.99 + tax for it from Autozone...over the frickin counter... my price for it at O'reilly's is 247.99 but that is with the employee discount... their over the counter is 299.99.... I am not kidding about the difference in drivability in my truck either... I am shocked... now I need to change my signature...

Man, don't ell me that shiat. Wanna put it on top of mine to see if it performs better for me too. Instead of buying one and it not working worth a crap? How was tuning it? Was it as hard as they say, or what? Mine is running better, but it still has a little hesitation on take-off, sometimes it'll almost die.

I say it was easier to tune...because the adjustment stayed...I think that edelbrock was really choking me... I desktop dynoed both with the 600 cfm and then the 750... on paper I gained 5 hp... feels like 50 to me though... I can't express it in words how much better it feels and drives. @ 249.99 I'm kicking my self for not spending the money 2 years ago...and it sure is nice to go... when you step on the pedal..now I just need to lose that Edelbrock mindset... thinking every lope of the cam at idle the truck is dying because it did it so much...

I have an Edl 1407 on my 383, & they are different to tune than a Holley, but I think I am "converted". It take 2 lanes of pavement to hold on to that old longhorn to about 70mph! .......2 tons of fun

I just pulled the 1407 off of mine and put an electric choke 600 holley in place. I gained almost 2 mpg and it starts up as soon as I turn the key in the morning. No more ru ru ru ru ru pump ru ru ru ru ru pump ru ru ...start . Doesnt feel like its lost a bit of power either.

The 1407 was 2 months old and jetted right. They just dont work worth a damn if you leave them parked on even small hills ...like my driveway.

I've had a Holley 750, 600 and now I run an Edelbrock 600 on my motor. Took it out of the box and set the idle thats it! I have never had good luck with Holleys. And I have never heard a bad word spoken about the 600 Edelbrock, I think you got a lemon or maybe as you said you needed a 750. Anyways, I will never, ever run a Holley again after trying this Edelbrock!

Well I mustve had a lemon.... or maybe they don't like massive amounts of humidity... I don't know. All I know is that holley is running great, and that edelbrock never did. I havent had the holley long enough to dislike it .... if I ever will... I was going to put a barry grant on it...we'll see how this goes.
