the latest distraction from the truck

i am in the process of buying this from a buddy of mine, it is a 71 chevelle ss 454. i got it running yesterday, it has been sitting in his garage for about 5 years:

even with gas at $3.50 + a gal. guess i better break the 70' chevelle convertable out of drydock and drive it a little before i can't afford to buy gas for the thirsty 454. the 400 turbo is going to be replaced with a 700r4 so i can at least drive to the store.

Back in 77 I bought a 72 chevelle SS from the local dirt track hero for $2200. 1 year later I went to sell it and had a hard time ---between Insurance and high(?) gas these were hard sells.Sold it for $1700
