I might be towing a blazer on a tow dolly. It is a 4 speed, so if it was a 2 wheel drive I would not have to disconnect the drive shaft, but since it is a 4 wheel drive, what do I need to do?

If I put the transfer case in the 2wd position, will it disconnect the front driveshaft?

Place the transfer case in neutral or remove the driveshaft from the axle that is still in contact with the ground. Either way. Third option is put the rear axle on the dolly, placing the front axle on the pavement and unlock the hubs (if so equiped).

It the transfer case is in neutral, I should be able to leave the rear drive shaft connected, since it is a 4 speed and will self lubricate as the back wheels turn? Thanks

YEP -- YOU SHOULD BE OK WITH A 4 SPEED THRUCK IN NUETRAL, & IT WONT HURT ANYTHING TO TOW IT WITH THE FRONT WHEELS ON THE GROUND IF THE TRANSFER CASE IS IN NUETRAL EITHER.

Where you finding a dolly that is wide enough?
I've never seen one.

Interesting, I never read that thread.
The only dollys I ever seen wide enough were home made.
