Aftermarket Throttle Cable Bracket

What are you guys using sucessfully for an aftermarket throttle cable bracket? I have a 350 with an edelbrock air gap intake, demon carb with 2" spacer, stock throttle cable, and 700r4 tranny. I have one of those Spectre adjustable brackets you can get from any of the auto parts stores but it doesn't have enough adjustment for the throttle cable to not be bent in a bind. Thanks.

I use Edelbrock 8036 from www.summitracing.com.
I had to modify the bracket a little. The bracket is a little short for an RPM intake. I use a RPM air gap on my ZZ4. Look through my ZZ4 pictures below in my signature. I can't post a picture from this computer because the site is blocked.

gchemist, did that bracket allow you to use the factory brackets that hold the cable housings?

I feel this bracket was money well spent. Being that it's carb attached, your cable angles will always be right no matter how tall the manifold or spacer is, and as a plus the throttle return springs are on it as well and are adjustable.

You do have to purchase the kickdown or TV cable slider as an extra. It will share the adjustment screw with the throttle slider, OR you can do what I did and use another bolt an nut to bolt it further back behind the throttle slider if the kickdown/TV cable needs it.

You will also need longer carburetor studs if your current studs don't have enough length for the bracket.

Bowtie overdrives sells a bracket for the 700r4 that is supposed to be fool proff, as well as Lokar. Here I just copied and pasted a lot of them from Summit. Spending some money here will ensure smooth safe operation of your throttle, as well as not smoking the 700r4 due to improper TV setting.

Here is the bracket before I modified it. I cut it and moved the top portion up a little. All the cables align properly. The bracket does not need cutting on most manifolds. However, RPM intakes are taller than most intakes. yes, it works with stock cable clips. I have throttle, TV and cruise control all connected. Follow the picture to other pictures.

I see how that works now. That may be my choice although I may need to change my throttle cable. The part that snaps into the bracket and holds the cable is round which doesn't seem to be compatible with most brackets. I also thinks it's a hair to long. It sucks because this holding up getting my truck drivable again.
