I wish I would have mounted it 3 or 4 inches forward. It can somtimes be a pain getting between the seat and shifter. And now I will probably have to move it if I get a new seat.

If you are going to build a custom console, I have a Quicksilver I'll sell. It has two different handles and a good cable, but you'll need trans bracket. Also a "console" from a Starshifter. $50 plus shipping.

I have a truck B&M Mega shifter in my blazer and I love it. Cable shifters are way better than linkage

I dont know about that cable shifter being better thing. I have a linkage operated floor mount Lokar and its far better than any cable shifter i have ever used.

ProSt68Trk, What part number is your shifter. It looks like it sticks up about the right height. Do you like it, would you change anything about it? Do tou have to really reach to shift? Thanks for any info, was just looking at installing one, and wanted some "real world" feedback.

Can't really give out a "real world" opinion yet - trucks still being built, but I really like the shifter so far. It takes a little reaching, but not near like some of the other shifters out there. Its the B&M Megashifter - here's a pic

they are good shifters, the only problems are you have to be really carefull with the cable, they will bend and not work. also, the placement is a pain. if you go too far forward you will hit your knuckels on the dash, too far bad you cant move your seat up.

the seat isnt a big deal if noone shorter than you drives your truck!

for me i prefer the locar shifter, but im not a race kind of guy

Here's mine Truck Megashifter, kinda like ProST68trk, Just a couple inches taller. You can reach it pretty good. No more missed shifts, and the seat thing just get a 60/40 split bench. That's how mine is and driver has full mobility, although the pass seat does not move.

hmmmm....I think mine might be the Truck model too. It looks tall like yours int the pic NSANE. I bought mine newly "used" from a buddy so not sure what model other than a megashifter.

I had a B&M truck megashifter in mine for 2 years and loved it. It was great, I could really hammer through the gears and was easy to use. I sold it to a board member a while ago since I am going to a 4-speed. Manual trans is the way to go!!!

ProSt68Trk - Is that a B&M Truck Megashifter or a regular Megashifter cus it seems to sit a bit higher than the others.

Maybe it has something to do with the tranny hump - mine is the type that can be unbolted - made it extra sweet to install! Other than that I'm really not sure what type - just know its a megashifter.
