Skipping Trailblazer ?

Hey All,

My brother has a 05 Trailblazer with the 4.2 L6, It started running rough at 65,000 so we replaced the plugs. This has the coil over each plug, It ran better after the plug change but still has a distinct skip like one plug isn't firing.

Question;

Can I remove all the coils from the plugs (to prevent engine start-up) and test each coil for spark with my adjustable spark tester without causing any computer damage ?

Thanks for any insight !

Re: Skipping Trailblazer ?

I'm thinking I read of an issue on the I6 engines where they have a motor that somehow adjusts one or both of the cams and that this motor is prone to failure. It causes poor idle and drivability/emission issues. I appologize for the poor description, but it has been a while since I read it (I think I found it here somewhere). I will do some searching and see what I can find.

This is all I could come up with right now.
