Re: Pic Request: Rally wheels on a dropped truck

Dingfodgy, do you have any more pics of that truck? i am thinking about painting my '68 step in that same paint scheme.

Or anyone else have pics of a silver 67-72 with white grill and top????

Unfortunately, no I do not have any additonal photos. I keep this one around as a source of inspiration for my '67 SWB project. I really dig the silver and while combo and will most likely use these colors on my ride!

Re: Pic Request: Rally wheels on a dropped truck

Beautiful trucks!!! Thanks for coming through with photos.

How would a set of 275/60R15's look on the rear end? My tranny mechanical speedo is set up for 28 inch tires and would rather not change it if I didn't have to.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience, well......that comes from bad judgment.

1968 Chevy C-10 "Longshot": Bought used from my Uncle George in 1994 and proceeding to beat the hell out of it for 4 years. Sold it. Bought it back, dumped an ungodly amount of money into it since then.

Re: Pic Request: Rally wheels on a dropped truck

Here's mine before it was disassembled for body/paint. Front wheels are 8 -inches wide; rears are 10. Front dropped 2.5 inches and rear is dropped 4. Front tires are 245-60 T/A's. Rears are 275-60 T/A's. Wheels are from Wheel Vintique Vette-style rallye, with 6-lugs holding each one on.

Re: Pic Request: Rally wheels on a dropped truck

IMO 275/60-15 ON THE REAR AND 255/60-15'S ON THE FRONT IS WHAT I,AM RUNNING NOW and imo the only way they look good is to have truck lower alot. i,ll try to post some pic,s. of my blue & white truck asap so you can see. there small diameter and you,ll have alot of wheel well showing if you dont drop tk. alot. the photo of my truck above has 70 series on it.

Here is my 71....with a 4"/6" ece drop. I have pondered with switching to more modern rims, but I have gotten quite a few compliments for sticking with the Rally's.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Cool Re: Pic Request: Rally wheels on a dropped truck

What backspacing are you guys running?
I'm getting ready to do a 4/6 drop with drop spindles & springs up front & my understanding from other postings that I read here was that 15x8 would rub on the inner fenders because the spindles push the tires out more on the front?
Really need help with this I haven't been able to start my build because I'm also going from a 6 bolt pattern to a 5x5 & need to get wheels but I'm getting so many different opinions here & don't want to have my truck stuck in the driveway long.
I'm going the Wheel Vintiques rout truck rally's corvette style just don't know what size & backspacing to go with because of the drop spindles??
My truck is a 69 SWB fleet side any & all help is appreciated.
Thank you
Miguel
