Hover creeper. Anyone have one?
Can a big boy like me float on air? Actually I do need a new creeper. Anyone have advice for a heavy rated & economical one?

That does look kinda cool. I too wonder about how it really works.

Re: Hover creeper. Anyone have one?
If you figure the normal compressor is putting out 120psi or more even if you weigh 250lbs or so that load spread over the entire board would be a lot of weight. i would guess it would work well. better than a wheel getting hung up on a piece of dirt on the floor like normal creepers

Re: Hover creeper. Anyone have one?
pessimist mode on;
that's gonna kick up a lot of dust in 99% of floors. nothing like having another cord or hose under there with you. does it work on less than perfect floors? pessimist mode off, optimist mode on; I have about 150' of hose and a large driveway. creeper racing time trials!!! |

Re: Hover creeper. Anyone have one?
i've used a similar tool for moving appliances it worked effectivly but was very sensitve to balance of the load. and evenness of the floor it was being used on. from those prior experiences i can only think it would only be a major PITA to try using it plus the fact if you're like me and drop small parts they'll get blown away never to b seen again
i like the racin idea tho

Agreed......Looks like it would be a cluster .... to use with the hose, and the ever sounding of an air fitting gone bad............

Re: Hover creeper. Anyone have one?
I believe that would wear out a normal-sized air compressor.

Re: Hover creeper. Anyone have one?
Good point. I have a hard enough time finding them when they are close let alone blown across the shop.

Re: Hover creeper. Anyone have one?
It looks like there is a lever that the guy turns on/off so the air is not running constant. I like the idea of turning it off so your'e not gliding around with every wrenching motion. Racing does sound fun.

Re: Hover creeper. Anyone have one?
all you would need is a connection that comes apart with a strong pull and the game is on. just like belt sander races. the finish line would be a sight to see. I wonder what the stop would be like when the air suddenly goes away. LOL
