Road Trip to St. Louis

We took the truck to St. Louis this weekend to see family & pick up my motorcycle. On the way there we got 13 mpg. Not too bad considering we were doing around 75mph. On the way home I think we got maybe 10 mpg with a strong head wind and an extra 500 lbs in the back. We barely made it half way to fill up again.

I honestly think these trucks are like a wall on wheels. I pulled out from behind a semi to pass. I was going 75 when I pulled out and when I pulled back in behind the same semi I had been pushed down to 65 mph.

No break-downs, no blow outs, no missing rusty body parts. All in all a successful trip and I got a new toy as a bonus!

I don't have a digicam, but I will try to borrow one tonight. It is a '85 Honda Shadow 700cc with 6030 miles. I would rank it 9 or 10 out of 10. The only thing wrong with it is a little scuff on the gas tank from the previous owner's jeans. It's been sitting in a garage for the last 8 years! How lucky am I!
