instrument cluster....?

I am trying to get my instrument cluster out, and the only thing stopping me is trying to get the knobs off for lights and windshield wipers. What do I need to do to get them off?
THanks

i think --- if i remember correctly --- there is a small hole in the base of the black knob --- and inside that hole is a watch-screw (a small flathead screw) that can be loosened to remove the knob.

the hole is pretty small --- only a few millimeters across --- and sometimes the hole does not end up on the bottom of the black knob because it has gotten turned by accident.

if your knobs are not black, i'm not sure if it would be different. but my knobs are black, and they sometimes have a silver circle in their center. (i'm doing this by memory, so if i am wrong --- someone correct me). but look on the base of the knob to find the hole.

good luck!

oh wait --- i thought of something else ----
the knob for the lights --- it is a bit different than the knob for the choke or for the windshield wipers. to release the knob for the lights, you have to release the knob and the post in the center of the knob at the same time (they are one piece glued together). to release the post, it must be released from inside the light switch box (under the dash). there is a small metal button on the top surface of the light switch box. if you press this button, it will release the post (attached to the black knob), and you can pull on the black knob to take it out. i am pretty certain that the metal button is on the top surface of the light switch box, but it could be on the bottom (if my memory is bad).

ok --- good luck!

Reach under the dash behind the headlite switch, and on the top of the switch is a springloaded button (verysmall) and press it in while you pull the knob out,it might take acouple tries you gotta hit the sweet spot, then remove the chrome bezel behind knob.
Then on the wiper knob look on the side for a small set screw and use a small screw driver to back it out then remove the knob, then remove the chrome bezel. let us know if you need more help and dont forget to remove you postive cable on your battery so your lights dont stay on!
