That is not a original factory truck tach. Not sure what it is from but definetly not original factory truck tach. Original V-8 tach is 5 grand and original Inline 6 is a 4 grand tach I think. Not sure on that, never seen one up close and personal. Tach looks good in the bezel but if seller says "factory tach" either they don't know or are trying to pass it off. Can you post a link? My 4x4 has the factory tach installed but I put it in from a salvage yard buy. $15 and it even works!

I was under the impression that the v-8 tach and the inline tach were the exact same.
That is out of a 2nd gen camaro

Talking

Longhornmail is right. The tachs for the 6 cylinders and 8 cylinders are the same.

If you use a 6 cylinder in an 8 cylinder application, you will want to adjust it with the calibration screw in the back.

Learned something again from the board! Thanks for setting me straight on the 6 cyl. vrs. 8 cyl. tach question. Having never seen a 6 cyl. tach I was told by someone who "knew trucks" the 4 grand bit was correct. This board is the best. Thanks again for correct info.

I believe the 4000 RPM tach came out of diesel trucks.
