What do you Think ?

I have line on this 70 GMC Burb and have some questions that maybe one (or more) of you could answer. As you can see by the Spid it shows the Burb as having factory A/C but there are no dash vents only the long thing with vents that is runs the length of the ceiling inside, is this the way the factory added A/C in 70 cause the 72 I had with factory A/C had the dash vents. It also shows special paint on the spid yet the owner says its never been painted ( it was his Dads who bought it new and it now part of the estate) but the blue looks like a factory color to me. Lastly if anyone wants to give an opinion on the value of the Burb feel free as I think the owner has watched a few to many Barrett-Jackson auctions...

Re: What do you Think ?

That is a nice looking truck. My Burb came with "factory a/c" also, but only the overhead unit like you describe, I had no dash vents either. Hope that helps, mabey someone can give more detail on that.

Re: What do you Think ?

When I took a closer look at the spid I can see it says
"air conditioning-roof mounted"

Now I'm wondering if you could order them with the roof air or the dash air as well..

Re: What do you Think ?

In my area, depending on running cond. and how much rust, I think you would expect to pay anywhere from $3500 to $5500. Could be higher in other parts of the country.

Re: What do you Think ?

I have seen them before with just the roof mount and not the dash A/C. Not sure why some have that set up but I know they made some that way. Either way its a great looking burb! Wish mine came with factory buckets.

Re: What do you Think ?

It has some nice factory options. Big block, tinted glass, buckets, positrac rear end, front sway bar, upper molding, ps,pb, roof mounted ac. From the pictures it looks very original and untoched. If it looks that good in person I would snatch it up. If it is rust free. It is worth what every you are willing to pay for a rust free original. It is getting harder and harder to find good original burbs. Good luck.

Re: What do you Think ?

Looks like someone added a auxiliary fuel tank. I didn't notice that when I looked at the pictures the first time.

Re: What do you Think ?

The paint color# should be marked on the fire wall. (not in your picture) Could be right above the heater box.

Re: What do you Think ?

That's correct 67-71 factory A/C burbs came with overhead A/C and didn't have dash vents. 72 was the only year that had both front A/C with dash vents and the smaller overhead rear A/C unit.

Nice burb btw!

Re: What do you Think ?

Thanks for all the input. I do like the way it is equipped, especially the big block, buckets, console and posi and the fact that it is an original and being sold from an estate. I would have prefer a Chev instead of a GMC as I want to put a 68 front clip on the Burb I end up with.

I just hate the look of it with those hubcaps on it but with that being said I have a set of 15 x 8 Rallys in my garage that would spruce it up quite a bit.

I'm gonna make an offer on it and see what happens.

Re: What do you Think ?

Thanks for the support and I just called the owner and got the message manager so I'll try later. I never really wanted a 4 x4 Burb but recently stumbled upon this Burb and its actually not far from me and in Canada. Its an automatic small block with dual a/c and posi.

Yes they both do. Still no response from the guy with the blue one, he must be away for the weekend. The 4x4 is starting to grow on me now !!

Re: What do you Think ?

Yes the owner got back to me with a counter offer and we are a $1000. apart. I can almost buy the brown 4x4 ( which is only a 5 hour drive from me) for pretty much the same money as the guy wants for the blue one, but I dont know if I really want a 4 x 4.
