Project Yipes

Well my new project was delivered today! I know you guys have seen this build on another thread but I am the lucky guy that gets to finish it Now I want to start by saying thank you to Marc for the awesome start! It is everything i expected it to be! Also... I want to let everyone know that my wife and I are expecting our first child in April! So as much as I would like to be able to tell you all that it won't be long till it's done... That's just not a reality with a baby on the way! I will get as much done as possible and update with pics as often as possible so that I won't leave people who followed the previous thread wondering what happened to the truck! Well that's it for now, and don't worry I won't be writing short stories every post!

Sweet. Looks so much different out in the open. Ive been looking at it from a 4-6 foot distance for three years. Nice stance. That 22 looks huge back there!
Congrats on the new baby...(on the way).

Re: Project Yipes

If it's not raining tomorrow we'll air it back up and push it out for more photos... We were helping a friend swap out his rusty longbed for a "spare" longbed we had laying around when the tow truck showed up today We had just a enough time to get a few pictures, drool, and get back to work before it started raining here!

Well we've still got our first baby on the way so it won't be moving as fast as most of you truck site guys expect it to But as soon as I get a nice enough day I plan on pulling the body off first and running brake lines and air lines for the bags. Then I have to decide what color to do the frame And how much $ I want to dump into the undercarriage! I mean it lays frame so no one is really gonna see under it right? Do I really need to powder coat the frame? Other options?????

I wouldn't coat it. Since it lays frame it's bound to get scratched. With paint you can touch it up. With powder it can be touched up but not as easily and it easily can start bubbling/coming off if you get moisture under the powder due to a scratch/chip from laying frame.

Re: Project Yipes

I would not powder coat the frame Id either do it the same color as you plan on paining the truck or just find a nice black to put on it..

I wish I had some awesome updates to show you but unfortunately it's had to take a back burner for a little bit because my father-in-law died, then we had our 1st baby, then my wife lost her job... Yeah life has been crazy these last few months! But I can't help but count my blessings in the fact that we've got a beautiful healthy baby girl and an awesome truck parked in the garage!

I am actually going to start finish work on the frame in the next few weeks so hopefully I can get you some new photos of progress soon
