Post 700R4 FOLLOW UP!

Just to refresh you guys, I am thinking about buying a 700r4 that was built up. Well I went and talked to the guy that built the tranny, I believe I am going to go with the 700r4, he told me that if I was to buy the tranny, and install it, that he would hook up the TV cable, for me and make sure that it is right. He also wants me to bring him the tranny so that he can service it before I install it. So he has me convinced to this point to go with it

One other thing, he keeps a record of all the trannys that leave his shop, so that he can pull up the record when it comes back to see what all he has done to it, and this tranny is built for 500 hp, the 383 sbc that I am building is going to put out right at 475 to 500, he said it should work just fine,

How do you get a shift indicator with yhe overdrive spot in it P R N OD D 2 1 Like that?
I have a 700R to put in my truck when I get the suspension back on the frame . Also will the speedo Cable work from the 350 tranny? I know that it wont be accurate so how do you make it right? If it helps the tranny is from a 85 Conversion van carb motor

Having a 700R4 in my 71 is the best of both worlds, more base line torque and better gas mileage at top end. As for shift indicator. with 4 gears, D is overdrive,2 is 3rd, 1 is 2nd and 1st is further down on the column shift, besides how many ever use 1st.
