Here's a good one!

Here's a respectable truck at a fair price,I think.

Re: Here's a good one!

Overall, I do agree. There's no/minimal body work if ya wanna repaint, but if ya repaint then its not a survivor.
JMO...$12.5K is a bit steep in this economy.

Have fun...don t. ...

Re: Here's a good one!

It will need floors and rockers but don't almost all of them? It is a really nice piece with great promise. I do agree the economy is tough right now as far as the car bussiness goes it is as bad a s I have ever seen it, and I have been in since the late 80's. Jim

You're $2,300 off. The buy iy now price is $10,200. This is an original paint Cheyenne short Fleetside that looks real nice as it sits...turn-key for most. I'd say that price reflects the poor economy. I wonder if someone offered the seller $9,000 if it didn't hit the buy it now what would happen. I expect to see it disappear, though, shortly.

Why do you think it needs floor work?

As far as the economy goes,it hasn't been this bad since the depression. And,that was before unemployment,FDIC,the gov't didn't bail out any banks or assist in restructuring mortgages, and there are countless new laws in effect that protect us. But,there are still people who have money and some have made money off of it...not me,or I'd buy this thing. I'm in the home building industry which tanks before anything else and is the last to come back. It's only houses, who needs that?

Re: Here's a good one!

I think it is a former member selling it.

It looks to be a nice truck. I agree that he will get real close to his 10K asking price. I sold my blue/white 72 SWB Super last summer for just under 10K, and it did NOT have original paint...it did have ice cold A/C though Even in "this economy" there still are lots of folks with cash, and I have no doubt someone will pick up this truck. The original paint is the clincher IMO.

Re: Here's a good one!

It is a nice truck and it should sell for that price. My question is, what is considered a survivor? Alot of things done on that truck that take away survivor status in my opinion. Should be listed as original paint truck.

"Survivor" has become another key word to abuse, like rat rod, green, patina, rare, original, restored, unmolested etc. If he hadn't modded it it would have been a true survivor. But,original paint and interior have survived,it's not restored, and probably was a survivor before this owner personalized it.
Man,I like that thing! it's got a 427 fer cryin' out loud!

Re: Here's a good one!

I know the economy is pretty bad,but if every member just gave me $.80 I could buy this thing. And,if any come by my place I'd let you drive it around. Where can you get a deal like that? Considering the economy it's a no brainer. Why me,you ask? Cuz I asked first!!

Re: Here's a good one!

I'd grab it and have the paint rubbed out for the Summer.
My 72 had similar Moulding that I didn't care for.I had my Body shop take it off. Nice Truck at a decent price.

Re: Here's a good one!

It was asked of me why I said it needed rockers and floors, Ilooked at the pics. One of the shots is of the uderside the rockers appear that there are bubbles on the rockers. In another pic it showa the door openings and what seems to be rust is at the pinchweld. That is what I am going on. Jim

Re: Here's a good one!

That's the best deal I've seen in a long time. If it was a GMC I'd probably drop in for a look. I love an original paint truck, you really can be sure of what you're getting.

I just looked at the pics again, I think in that pic, that's water dripping off the rocker.

But what I don't get is it appears to have the complete Cheyenne Super interior right down to an obviously original houndstooth seat, but it's not a Super?
