Re: 1988-1998 Reg. Cab Shortbeds
my 90 k1500 thats now 2wd..... removed front diff/driveshaft and stubbed the axles.... 170k+ and runs excellent...
was a stepside but i hate stepsides . found a kid w/ a fleetside that was modded for his 2wd lowrider that wanted a stepside.. traded straight across , he even delivered his bed, helped me pull mine off, and put his in place.... called me a week later and wanted his bed back cause the stepside was gonna take to much work... bed was marron so i painted it one night with white rustoleum (1am so i didnt bother the neightbors or have to worry about cops ) |

Re: 1988-1998 Reg. Cab Shortbeds
Welcome, Matt! My only suggestion is that I don't think all the brightwork up front jives with the flat black. I'd ditch that chrome valance, and maybe the billet grille, assuming you want to keep it flat black.

Re: 1988-1998 Reg. Cab Shortbeds
I am looking for another grille, but its taking some time. I would love to take it back to the GMC logo grille or no logo at all. Something like this would be amazing...........................but I don't want to spend too much on one

Re: 1988-1998 Reg. Cab Shortbeds
yeah I agree, i used to really dig chrome, but have recently gone for a "semi murdered out look". and as far as interior find a new glove box door, a monitor there would look tacky and waaayy out of place. otherwise nice truck!

Re: 1988-1998 Reg. Cab Shortbeds
heres what i did to my89 after deciding i didn't like chrome. 2 sets of tires a set of wheels, the grille headlight harness and turn lamps, bumper and brackets ALL for 400. i'd hit up your local junkyard they got some good stuff. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...hp?photo=27886 oh and its a chevy dispite the grille, havent gotten to the billet grille insert yet i just like the gmc grilles better.

Re: 1988-1998 Reg. Cab Shortbeds
Interested in the front valance beneath the bumper. That is nice, where did it come from? I actually liked the 17's with the meaty sidewalls. That's a truck you can use.

It did look good then too. But if you knew him you'd know this truck doesnt get used. lol Only has like 85K miles on it and gets driven maybe twice a year.
