Paint code

I'm trying to determine the paint code on my truck. Is there a tag located anywhere that has that info? I want to figure out if my light blue and white 65 came from the factory with a white or ivory roof and insert between the body side trim.

Re: Paint code

yeah there is a tag inside the cab on the left. it's close to where your left knee is when you're in the drivers seat.

Re: Paint code

once you find the code, here's the key:

Also note that you'll only have one number on the trim tag. For instance solid light blue is 507. I believe that a white top/insert (if you had the side trim) would be a 537 (shown on the second pic only - a 1966 chip, but same logic applied).Name: gm_1965_truck_acme_c_01.jpg

Re: Paint code

That was great info, thank you. Does any one have a list of what the trim RPO's are?

Re: Paint code

yep. looks like 521 white was available from either 57-66 or 54-65 depending on which chart you read, either way you're covered. Not sure what the BA is though, hmm.

Re: Paint code

thanks, I assume white meant no two tone, so the BA confused me to. thanks for the info.

Re: Paint code

Sometimes its better to be lucky than good. In the back of my pea brain I started thinking after Likaroc13 posted the picture of his tag and started digging through the paperwork I found in my truck from the original owner and this was stuck in the owners manual. Now I wonder what the AD is after the 537 paint code that Jocko said was correct.

Re: Paint code

Don't feel bad, mine is a 64 C10 swb fleet with the code of 528AA . I now 528 is Desert Biege or Fawn but the AA code I can't find it anywhere. The trim just says STD lol
