Re: rear glass ?
Assuming this is a pickup, bust it out and claim it on insurance.....Just kidding. Just find a solid rear window for that year, cut out the old one, and urethane in the new one. I used to work for a glass shop and these are not really that hard to do. The trim does get in the way a little. I would think if you had the glass, a glass shop would not charge that much to install. Glass has come down in price so much over the years it should be fairly cheap. If you have never done it before, I would leave it to a professional, it would be leak free and they have the correct glues to use.

Re: rear glass ?
Yep it is a glue in. The 87 and prior glasses were rubber gaskets which were roped in or with a spline. LMC Truck sells rear tinted glass for a decent price. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cd/full.aspx?Page=12
Like I said, I would definitely have someone knowledgeable with glass do it or help you. It takes skill to get the glue bead correct and have a water proof seal.

Re: rear glass ?
Check your local glass shops. LMC wants $164 for the glass including shipping. The shop near me wants $180 glass & installation for the dark tint. Good Luck, Mark

I just got this in. Packaged very well, and tinted even for less than $130! BUT, NOT looking forward to pulling that slider out. ..and yes, I know it's an old thread. But I'm just starting this job this week. Hopefully getting it done before it rains again. E |
