Underfloor power booster dual cylinder

I see a lot of different underfloor stock location set ups. Has anyone used the Brothers supplied one? Instructions look pretty straight forward and it only works with the automatics. Its on sale this weekend too!

Re: Underfloor power booster dual cylinder

I made mine too. I had the truck MC, only purchased part was the booster. $5 of plate, friends plasma cutter and a little welding and drilling. I cut my brackets to match the radius of the booster. In 85 I made the bracket for the stock pedal to work with the 74 master cylinder, this time I added the booster bracket and made the push rod.

Orrie,
I admire your fab abilities. Any chance you have a photo of the bracket without the MC & booster on it?

Kinda looks like a large "C" bracket going to the frame, then a large fabricated angle with the half round booster mount welded to it. Then that asembly is bolted (?) to the "C"?

Re: Underfloor power booster dual cylinder

I think that was "coupeguy" who did that. He has a white 57 but I can't remember the thread.

this is the best photo I have, I do not have any without the MC. I noted it up. I just built 1/4" foam board templates and a model until I got the alignment set, I moved it back so the access door in the floor was behind the cab brace. The arm from the pedal to booster is 1/2 EMT with a nut welded on one end and a fabricated piece on the other to fit the pedal. The nut gives it adjustment to set the pedal height correctly.

Re: Underfloor power booster dual cylinder

I didn't fab this one, it's from CPP, but might give some ideas if you are thinking of making your own. I don't know exactly what I paid for this bracket as it came as part of a kit with booster, m/c, and proportioning valve. The kit was $299 2 years ago. It uses the original pedal which is one of the reasons I chose it.

Re: Underfloor power booster dual cylinder

this is my 03 mustang hydroboost setup

and i found coupeguys thread, not the one i was thinking about but close
he cut off the bottom of the mc and used the pedal, swing arm and the stock pivot points
then mounted the hydroboost on a simple bracket behind the mc and used a heim joint inbetween
simple and effective; this is the way i'd go
this is a link to his thread posts 53 to 60
