Anyone in NC do some off-roading?

I'm curious if anyone in the NC area does some off-roading and knows of some good places to do so. I would also like to do some off-roading with a couple guys. I know theres a few of you in NC. I'm in the Triad area, about 15 minutes out of Winston-Salem.

I'm planning on going down there on the 6th, I doubt I will need U-Joints, how would I replace them while I was there? I will take a tire plug kit and some air though, I have no spares hehe. Shouldn't break any u-joints, if so i'm gonna be buying some tougher u-joints, I don't need stuff breaking on me hehe. Oh ya, and thats also I was looking for a truck with dual gas tanks when I was looking for my truck. I'll probably take an extra 5 gallons with me though.
