1972 GMC 3/4 Ton 4X4 / Willy's Pickup Build

I picked up a 1972 3/4 Ton 4X4 Long Bed Pickup today, It looks kind of ruff because it was in a fire inside of a Mechanics Shop. It got hot but its mainly smoke damage and where the Firemen got a little rough with it. I guess opening the Doors wouldn't suffice when they wanted to get in it so they smashed out the windshield with axes. Ok now for the good stuff. This truck has a 383 Stroker with less than 300 Miles on it. Completely Rebuilt TH400 with a Completely Rebuilt T205 Transfer Case New front and Rear Axles and 4.10/1 Gear Sets, Brand new Mickey Thompson Rims and New Mickey Thompson Tires, New everything just about. So I am going to take all the sheet metal off the frame and have it all Media Blasted and then my Son and I are going to Sealer Primer it all. Then we are going to sell it. you cant believe how strait all the sheet metal is. We are going to cut the frame down and use all the Running Gear from the GMC to Build the 1950 Willy's Pickup. So at heart this truck will look like a Willy's but run like a GMC.. Here are a few pictures of the truck as it sets right now.

This Only Gets better...
My Son and I did a little digging around and cleaning on the engine. Looks like it a Wheeler Engineering Block. Its a full on Race Engine... I am going to take the Valve Covers off tomorrow to see what kind of Aluminum Heads are on it. It has a Edlebrock Air Gap intake Manifold and a Holley Double Pumper on top. I noticed it has a High Capacity Pan on the Engine. I was told this engine was a 500HP Engine and it looks like its the real deal. Even the Water Pump is high Polished Brass. This is a real Find!!!
