Silly question, what measurement would be needed to see if a radiator was a 3 or 4 core radiator? I need a set of these but the replacment radiator I got was free, but the PO didn't know 3 or 4 cores. If some one on here could tell me one way or the other I'll buy a set.

Since changing to a 4 core radiator I can get you those dimensions tomorrow but did not keep the 3 core as it was rotted out. Sold it for scrap. Surely someone has them, maybe check with your local parts house if they have a 3 core in stock?

Went to the shop and looked at my '71 4x4 radiator. Measured just the cores not the retainer ridges on the tanks. 4 core radiator mearures at 2 5/8 " thick. Alfter doing that I did a SEARCH from the board using "radiator diferances" and " radiator thickness " in the SEARCH window and found this from another member:
4 Core thickness = 2 5/8" 3 Core thickness = 2" 2 Core thickness = 1 1/4 "

The 2 and 3 core radiators use the same mounts while the 4 core radiator uses a mount all of it's own. Hope that is some help to you.

The 2 core radiator is 1 1/4" thick.

Probably not the " correct " term for them but it's what I call them. The small tin plates with a mounting hole that fits the shroud end of the radiator support upper bracket. The shroud bolt/screw fits into it when mounting the radiator/shroud together. Two required, one for each upper rad support. Common to both sizes of rad mounts. Most likely could be had at a parts house or hardware store

Any body know what the real "true" name for them is, LOL
