Placement of "4 wheel drive" emblem on a 70 blazer??

Does anyone have these measurements?? I know that my CST blazer (1970) was an original 307 so the emblem under the front side marker light is supposed to be a "4 wheel drive" emblem. If it was ordered with a 350 then this emblem would be a "8 350" emblem. Any pics or diagrams would be greatly appreciated! Thanks-
Diane

Actually, on a '70, the "8-350" emblem goes under the "K5/Blazer" emblem. If it is 4WD, the "4 Wheel Drive" emblem does go under the front side marker light as you stated. I believe '71 and '72 had the optional displacement emblems under the front side marker, and no "4 Wheel Drive" emblems. Sorry, I don't have measurements and my Blazer is 175 miles from here right now.

another better shot...

Casey good question...I just figured around 70/71 they figured engine displacement was a more important emblem (never seen 'em on a 71 and up)

I guess in 69/70 if you had the standard 307 engine then the "4 wheel drive" emblem went under the side marker. If you upgraded to the 350 engine then the emblem under the side marker is the "8 350" emblem and the "4 wheel drive" got moved to under the "K/5 Blazer" emblem. In 71 they did away with the "4 wheel drive" emblem. Just FYI.

manufaturing

My assumption is that these factories were all about production and making money. Shouldn't much if this been dene by jigs and machines? I think a factory assembly manual would show measurments to hundreth of inches for emblem pin holes.

Smile dimentions

I've got the 67-72 factory assembly manual and found the specs but it doesn't givethe measurement from the marker light down to the 4x4 holes . Hole dia is 15/64 . Hole to hole ctr is 4.80" I just centered mine between the marker light and went down 2" (I think) from the bottom of the indentation for the marker light . I hope that helps !

my GMC doesn't have any 4 wheel drive emblems, or any evidence that they were ever there. was this chevrolet only? or was it just random which 4x4's got it and which ones didn't? Or did it matter on assembly plant? Or, could I have some non-original fenders from a 2wd? hmm...

It prolly wasn't GMC type emblem? Just like the GMC Longhorn didn't have badges??

I'm not sure....I could have sworn I've seen a few GMC's with them, but maybe I'm wrong. In any case, when I eventually take my truck apart and restore it, I'd like to add a set...not original, but cool nonetheless.

GMC 's did get the 4x4 emblems under the marker lights but not the optional displacement emblems. My 70 Jimmy has the 4x4 emblems and it is all stock.
