Rust in the gas vent lines.

If (as I expect) my fuel lines are rusty inside, do I need to worry about replacing the gas tank vent lines?

Re: Rust in the gas vent lines.

When I got m truck, it had sat for quite a while. After the carburetor had to be cleaned TWO times, I pulled the tank, flushed it out many times and blue air thru all the gas lines. This was the only way it worked for me.

Re: Rust in the gas vent lines.

That's what ethanol does. If your vent line is rusted check the inside of the fuel tank. Seems like even the new ones will develop a film of rust fairly quick.

Re: Rust in the gas vent lines.

68gmsee,

Way ahead of you man! The tank has been renewed....

Hmm.....that recondense line that goes up into the right rear cab pillar, I'll check with a q-tip but since that allows gasoline to recondense, I might better replace that.

Oh geeze! I'm practically "restoring" my truck!
