Thats a sweet truck. When you build something it's all about personal taste. My engine's grabber green and people though i was nuts. But when they see it they all come around(well most of em anyway) Hats off and kudo's to the owner of that truck, it looks great and I wouldn't dog on him on even my worst of days!!!

i never said i didnt like it. i like that truck a lot! i just think it looks weird on the inside with that steering wheel. that truck is very very very awesome. and i know its not 100% correct but i was just saying that wheel is a little out of place. he probably has over 20k restoring/modyfing/fixing up that truck. im not picking apart the truck. i just thought that wheel looks funny. my truck has that same wheel and im not afraid if everyone knows it. who cares. i wasnt rippin on this truck by pointing out that it has the wrong steering wheel. i just thought it was interesting that he would spend like over 20k on a truck adn then stick any old wheel on there.

but i think that red floor mat looks like crap

Drivin' a nice truck like that, he probably doesn't give a flying crap what others think. IMO the steering wheel looks fine, as does the red interior. The mats look alot better than dirty red carpet.

response to someone who said we need to lighten up. i am completely lightened up. its not like i look for this crap it just came to my attention last night when i was bored and we had been workin on a waterpump on a suburban all day. im not crazy or anything or mad that its not the right wheel. i just thought it was funny. I would have put a billet steering wheel or at least an original or something. if that was my truck i wouldnt care what other people said either. YOU ALL need to lighten up. comon... dont worry be happy now

nice truck huh?
You think everything is all original on that truck? I think you need to look again :p And you ask why? because the owner of the truck likes it that way I wish my truck looked half as good.

Wow!!! That truck could pass for mine when I got it in '86. But the first thing I got rid of was the stock wheel. Theres three things in interior you use the most. You sit, hold on, and watch. Seat, wheel and gauges. If you modify in anyway these has to go. Now if its restored or unrestored stock, keep em'. I like that truck but I go with another wheel. Because if you think about it had wheel covers. Sharp ride IMHO!!!!

Chance is next to nil.
It is not a tilt column, and there is no ignition switch on there. So onless a non-tilt van column was installed, then 72 is the newest that column could be. The steering wheel is 73 & up truck...and while I don't know my 73-87 trucks...I think that one is more like an 80-ish wheel.

With so many people looking for flaws...you'd think there was a reward.

I like it. To me the factory "bus" style steering wheels are too skinny and way too big. It's all a matter of preference. After all, we ain't talking about some half a million dollar collector's item.

I think what dinnut was pointing out is the strikingly odd juxtaposition of a later style wheel in an otherwise restored stock interior. It does look out of place given the predisposed picture we all have of what a stock interior should look like.

I like the truck, I like the red, and I particularly like the interesting use of the stock radio in the uncut dash . I don't care for that style wheel, but even with no wheel it sure beats what I'm driving.

That being said, all I have left to say is "SWEET TRUCK, DUDE"

Reds are very hard to match! There are so many different flavors that if you buy from two different places you're probably gonna get two different shades of red.

Yeah, I see nothing wrong with the wheel, I mean how many of us have the '89-'94 4-spoke Chevy wheels?? I for one have one!!! I also had that same style wheel that is in that truck when I first installed my tilt column. So what's wrong with the truck??? NOTHING!!! It's how the owner wanted it, the red interior isn't that bad, at least it's different than the usual Grey tweed interiors we see all the time. Now there would be a problem with the wheel and other things if the owner was trying to sell it and was saying that it was 100% original, but I see no problem with it the way it is, How many of you are critizing the truck while your truck is multi-colored, primered, or old faded rust buckets HHHHMMMM???? I say that is one sweet truck and I wish mine looked that good!!!!

The factory steering wheels for our trucks are not only butt ugly, but big enough to be on a river boat. I see no problem with a later model wheel...I would have gone with a vette wheel myself...I think they look the best in our trucks. Red interior was quite common in black trucks back then...I'm sure you could have ordered it that way. Sweet truck....post a pic of yours if you don't think so

i like the truck and steering wheel

I tried keeping a stock look, but then I thought, "what if I'm ever arrested and I need to flee from the cops?"
