Sat for 11 months, won't start!

My 1968 C20, 396, was parked last August. Parked outside, but in an enclosed shelter.

Last night I charged the battery and it cranks just great today but it won't fire and run.

I was pumped the gas peddle to try and get it to start as I was cranking it. I figured I might have flooded it so I pulled the front left spark plug to check and it was bone dry.

I poured some fresh premium gas down into the primaries. Then it would squirt gas when I pumped the gas pedal. Still would not fire or start. I poured more gas into the primaries. Still won't fire or start. Pulled the front left plug, still bone dry. Pulled the second left front plug to see if maybe it was wet, but again bone dry.

Will pouring gas in the primaries flood certain cylinders while leaving others dry?

I am going to go out later and try again.

I haven't checked for spark but I will this evening.

Any other hints or suggestions?

It shouldn't. I would get a can of starter fluid and give a small spray down the carb and then run around and give it a try before the ether evaporates. JMO

How is the gas? If you tried to start it before pouring gas down the carb it could have the jets plugged. Did you check for spark. Stranger things have happened but there could be a spark issue. It only takes Air,Fuel ,And spark to run.

Gas is 11 months old, but was parked with premuim and fuel stabilizer. The gas I was pouring in was less than a month old, clean and also premium.

I agree on the 3 things. I will check for spark tonight.

I was thinking if I didn't have spark, I would have wet plugs......

Cheap, easy check is a can of spray B12 Chemtool. Open the butterflies and give it a blast. Crank. If it doesn't run for a few seconds, time to check for spark.
The B12 also cleans carbs, removes grease, dissolves paint and skin after a bit, and makes a sweet home flamethrower.

Nice when the fix is easy. You may want to drive it to the store to buy a lottery ticket.
