20's question

I have a 71 c10 and was wondering if 20x9 with a 6 inch back space fit proper. Any advise is welcome. I was planning on a 275/40/20 tire. I can get a set from a friend for free and can't argue that if it buys me time till I can get the wider wheels.

I don't have the answer but I too asked almost the same question and didn't get an answer. I will follow this thread to see if you have better luck.

Re: 20's question

I don't know about 20x9 for sure, but I do know that a 20x10 with a 5.5" backspace will fit a 295/40R20. I would think it would be pretty close.

Re: 20's question

My other option is a 20 x 9 with a 3.25 back space. That puts me at 5.75 out of center. Not sure if it's gonna work. I have a bare frame and a pile of parts That include a lowering kit, relocate gas tank, all new brake lines and fuel lines, tubular A arms, trans x-member and engine mounts. I'm gonna be going with big disc brakes front and rear and need wheels to put her on cause my stock 15 inch steelies aren't gonna cut it. Thanks for getting back to me rharp. How much room do you have between the tire and fender?

I also need to know proper back spacing for 20 x 10 fronts and 20 x 12 rears with no modifications. I may just need to pony up on the new wheels sooner then expected. The truck is getting a 7 x 5.5 static drop. Notches are in and I just need to fix a small tare in the drivers front frame at the bumper mount and finish up the cleaning and paint on the frame before I start getting the hard lines and tank in. Then start on suspension.
