Rear axle swap

I have a 1967 2wd stepside, would like to convert from six bolt pattern to 5 on 5 pattern. Is this a simple axle swap, or would it be easier to change the whole rear end. Thanks

I'm gonna guess they are about the same amount of work.

Or they sell a whole kit with bearings and seals for $349

If you can get a good rear for less, I don't think it's that much harder to change the rear end or change the axles.

I personally prefer to swap the whole rear end as most often the older rear ends were really low geared. Much easier to find a freeway friendly rear end in a 73-87. I swapped out the last two in a few hours each.
