Frame swap?

I am trying to figure out what I want to do with my 71 C10. I found a 76 K5 blazer frame with trans, disc brakes, steering for 500$ that has been cleaned and painted. I know that it is 6" shorter than a SWB C10, but can't find where someone has done the swap. Is it possible with body and radiator mount swaps and extending the rear 6"?

Re: Frame swap?

Possible? Anything is possible with enough time effort and money.
Easy? That's another story. It isn't just the frame length, but the wheel base.

Re: Frame swap?

The frames drop in different places as well. Anything is possible but it's a lot of work.

Re: Frame swap?

I have done the crossbreeds before where everything does not want to be there or mate up. Yes you can do it, too much work.
I would look for a truck frame (about $300 around here) with discs and power steering. Even if it's a long bed. Cut out 12" and put back together. 1 day operation. Good to go. Everything will then bolt up and be happy. Not so much the other way.
