1950 Grille Options

I would like to get my 1950 3100's grille chromed but I feel like it will be too much since it wouldn't have the black background and inner bars. What do most of you guys go with?

I feel like all the bars chromed is too busy

Re: 1950 Grille Options

did you take the inner bars off? Why would you not have them? Even if you have the grill chromed, you can still paint the inner bars any color you want.

Personnaly, i like the chrome if it goes with the theme of the truck... truck has a lot of chrome. My truck had very little chrome on it so I decided to paint my grill. I too, thought it was too much to paint everything...... and too bland to paint it the same color as the truck.... so I picked an accent color and went with that.

It kinda depends on the base color of the truck too. a very light colored truck would look different with a chrome grill than a very dark one.

You can take the inner bars out? That was my main thing was understanding how anyone could paint the inner bars cause it looked like all one piece to me.

Re: 1950 Grille Options

the horizontal grill bars are rivited to the vertical supports. I took them apart to paint. You can see in the pic that the grill bars are two pieces, but you don't have to seperate them to paint.

All one color was too much for me, so I two tone painted the grill bars.
